Baby Obed's Surgery Is Over

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6
(KJV)

God's dear little angel, Obed, has his surgery behind him,
and now, his long road to recovery has begun.
His Daddy, Travis, sent me this picture to share here.

Poor little guy.
It hurts to see him like this,
and seeing him in this condition makes it hard to imagine how awful this ordeal has been,
for not only him, but for his dear parents.
The path ahead must look very long and difficult to Travis and Karissa.

This morning, Travis said this,
"They've been trying to find a balance with his pain medications as he's been in quite a bit of pain.
He seems to be doing very well, and his recovery is ahead of schedule."

I am beyond thankful that he made it through the operation with no complications,
and to know that his recovery is going well,
but I hate to think of him suffering so much!
Only Jesus can really comprehend what the little fellow is going through,
so please, please keep him in your continued prayers.

I will post updates, as they are available to me.

God bless you for every prayer you have prayed for Obed and the other needs mentioned here

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
James 5:16

Prayer changes things, my friend.

  1. I'm crying - I know what that precious baby's smiling face looks like - and this photo is just heartbreaking. But, it is a sign that he has come through the surgery, and is on his way to recovery. The good Lord who brought him into the world will surely not leave him now. Jesus will lie right beside him in that hospital bed, and will watch over him as he heals. I will specifically pray for his pain, and for strength and peace for his parents.

Oh Lord, please bless this dear little one.

    GOD BLESS.

Travis just emailed me back and said they should be moving to a step-down unit tomorrow, so he is progressing!!!! Praise God!! Thank you for your constant prayers and faithful support, dear friend. I appreciate you so much! God bless you. :)

    1. I know. He is so precious. I got to hold him back in August of last year, and he was so tiny and fragile. He hasn't gained a whole lot of weight since then, so I can only imagine how pitiful it is to see one so little in such a shape. Thank you so much for your prayers and concern for the little guy. I so appreciate your sweet visit and comments! God bless you. :)

  3. When the body fails and we can't get to church or out to help others, when our funds run too low and our time is taken up with what is at hand, the one things we can always turn to is prayer. It's the one ministry that gets better as one gets older. I get right to the point with God anymore, don't want to waste words, just want to sit on His lap and soak in His love and ask Him directly for others. It's encouraging to read this post Cheryl and the comments of others. That little baby has given all who come here a common goal of praying for his health. Thanks for keeping us updated.

    1. Yes, praise God, we can always pray...no matter where we are or what is going on. Mom always told me that prayer is a long-range weapon...it can reach as far as it needs to. God is so faithful to answer the prayers of His people. Thank you so much for your sweet visit and words and for praying for this precious baby. God bless you!

    1. It surely is heart wrenching...I hesitated to even put it on. It breaks my heart each time I look at it and reminds me how much the little fellow is relying on our prayers. Thank you for being so faithful to share our burdens, brother. God bless you.

  5. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the sufferings of people easpecially those that are near to us, but it is good to know that God hears our prayers and had been through all the pain that we could possibly have.
Father God, I pray that You comfort baby Obed and his parents. Give them the strength that they need...faith to believe the impossible and the patience to wait. Let them feel Your love in the midst of diffuculties. I pray in Jesus name.

  13. McKinley family is praying! Bless his heart...looks like he's trying to wake up. So hard to see little ones being treated as they don't understand what is going on. And so hard to be the parent because they look to mommy and daddy to stop the bad things from happening.
