A Beautiful Exchange of Mugs...and Two New Friends!

"As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country."
Proverbs 25:25
(KJV)

Recently, I participated in my very first mug exchange at sweet Stephanie's blog.
I met and started following Stephanie shortly after she hosted her last exchange,
and it was such joy reading about all of the lovely introductions that were made
and seeing all of the pretty mugs and teacups and lovelies being sent to and from loving hearts.
I made up my mind, right then and there, that I absolutely wanted to participate the next time around,
if at all possible.

And, with God all things are possible!
So, I did it.
I signed up, and God blessed me to find little things here and there to include in the goody box
that I would send to a yet unmet sweet sister somewhere.
Soon I received her name and mailing address, and it was sheer delight to put it all together, wrap it carefully, and get it sent off in the mail to her in my native state of Ohio, nonetheless!
I hope it brightened her day as much as it brightened mine getting it ready for her.

Soon, I received my own sweet box in the mail from another precious new friend, named Peg,
who lives several hundred miles away!
Her box of treasures didn't just bless me ~
you should have seen the looks of excitement on Kevin's and Zach's faces, too!
We all shared in the joy of opening up the sweetly-wrapped, thoughtfully-chosen gifts,
sent from a kind and caring heart.
I especially enjoyed reading the encouraging note she included,
introducing herself and explaining all about the things she had sent.

Oh, I DO apologize for the poor, poor quality of these photos!
I am having camera issues...hence, the lack of many pictures in blog posts lately,
and these photos do NOT do justice to the loveliness of the items in my mug exchange box.
I hope you can overlook the picture quality and just see the love!

My wonderful package included...
~ 5 lavender "S" note cards
~ Almond dark chocolate biscotti

~ A lovely lavender crocheted pin

~ The neatest crocheted coin holder with a penny tucked inside

~ A sweet bookmark that says, "There is beauty in every step of life's journey"

~ Sugar-free Werther's
~ Sugar-free toffee candies

~ Double Mocha Cappuccino mix
~ A solid milk chocolate bar with the cutest little bunny on the wrapper
~ A precious, precious Norman Rockwell mug with a little girl pouring tea for her dolly

~ A BEAUTIFUL hand-crocheted sunflower pot holder

All of it was wrapped so pretty and boxed in this beautiful box that I simply cherish.

Did I mention how much fun we all had opening this and seeing all the goodies?

I LOVED absolutely every, single thing in this box!

A big thank you to my precious new friend, Peg, for the kind care and love
she packed into every detail!

Before I started this post, I thought it would be a great idea to pick the one thing she sent
that I love the most.
But, alas!
I had a hard time deciding!
If I had to choose one favorite thing....
it would have to be this, my friends.

Oh, my!
Can I just tell you how much I LOVE this potholder?
I know how much work goes into a project like this,
and it just warms my heart to think of Peg's thoughtfulness.

My second favorite thing would probably be the sweet, little, crocheted coin holder.

Again....can I just say, oh, my?
Peg also included this accompanying poem on the back of her note card.

"This little penny says, "In God we trust" ~
Remembering this is a must!
Keep it with you everyday,
As a gentle reminder to pray ~ pray ~ pray!!"
P.R.S.

Just precious!

If the dear lady who received my box had even half the fun opening it as I had while opening mine,
then my mission of trying to bless her is duly accomplished!

This was just so much fun, and I so look forward to the next time Stephanie hosts a mug exchange!

One of my favorite parts of blogging has become the many friendships God has brought and continues to bring into my life.
When I started this blog over 4 1/2 years ago, I wasn't even thinking of meeting new friends.
I was broken to bits,
burned out,
exhausted beyond measure,
and the writing provided wonderful, much-needed, healing therapy for me.

God had SO much more in store for me through blogging than I even thought of or dreamed!
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think..."
Ephesians 3:20

He is an amazing God, and He always has a perfect plan.
He absolutely knows just what and who we need!

I love all of you faithful readers and dear friends so very much
and can only trust and hope that God will bless you abundantly in return
for all of your kindness, love, and encouragement to me!

To God be the glory forever.
A BIG thank you to dear Stephanie for orchestrating such a wonderful mug exchange
and to sweet Peg for the precious, loving box of goodies!

  12. Such a fun post and I enjoyed looking at all your goodies. I'm glad the box brought with it an anointing of love too. Reminds me of my "secret sister" days when we women would draw a name and bless that sister all year long with prayer and secret surprises. Tom is really big on creating Easter baskets, no matter the age. This year he and Amy looked so cute filling baskets with goodies for our bonus daughter, Angie's boys. It's those unexpected things that feel like a taste of heaven. How was the biscotti? I make it every Christmas! Love you!
