Prayers Needed For My Family

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies,
and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
2 Corinthians 1:3,4
(KJV)

There are times in all of our lives when the grief is just too overwhelming.
The heartache is much too intense.
The shock is way too unimaginable to absorb.

Such is the case in the hearts and minds of our grieving family today.

My dear niece, Victoria,
(you may remember me requesting prayer and writing about her in this post,
and this post, and this post),
was found dead in her apartment last night.
Police are ruling her death a homicide.

There are no words.
You hear about these things.
You read about them.
You don't expect them to happen to those you love.

Dear friends, I ask that you would please lift my brother, David, and sister-in-law, Dorothy,
(Victoria's father and step-mother), my niece, Kasey (Victoria's sister),
Victoria's mother, Pat, Victoria's daughter, Makaleigh,
and all other relatives and loved ones in your prayers today.

You will remember that my brother and sister-in-law just lost another child, Jimmy,
to cancer last January.
You can read Jimmy's "Good-bye Post" HERE.

Victoria was Jimmy's step-sister.

Only the God of all comfort spoken about in the Scripture passage above
can really reach the recesses of pain that are in each heart.
Only He can apply the healing balm and bring the needed solace.

Your prayers for our family would be most appreciated.

I finally have it in my possession, and oh, I cannot ever express my deep gratitude to you! It is beautiful indeed and means so much to know that it was made by your own loving hands. 18. Oh dear Cheryl... there are really no words that can express how awful this event is to your family, and the heartache that all of you are experiencing with this horribly tragic event. May our dear Lord somehow in His great mercy and love comfort each one of you in the midst of this sorrow and grief! Our prayers are with each of you during this time! You are so right that when it is someone else's experience it is different, but when it comes to you, it is unbelievable and almost like it is a bad dream you should wake up from. Words really fail to share the depth of the sorrow that I know you are feeling, and yet I pray that somehow the Lord would comfort your hearts in the midst of it all. We will be continuing in prayer for your dear family!

  22. Dear Cheryl, I also offer up my prayers for your brother and your entire family on the tragic death and loss of your niece. Kenda passed the word on to me and I prayed yesterday and I am also adding this to my prayer list for CWA members and leaders. May your family find the peace that surpasses all understanding. I also pray for the one who did this to your niece will not only pay for his crime, but also come to know and love our Lord as well. God bless, Barbara Ferraro

    1. We are still in shock, too...it just will not sink in that this is real. It is just incomprehensible to all of us. Surely God is in control, and this is one time that we must let go and give it all to Him. The load and hurt is too heavy for us to carry on our own. Thank you, brother, for your kindness, support, encouragement, and prayers...they truly mean so much!

  24. Cheryl,
I haven't logged in or visited my blog friends in so very long. Coming over today to visit you and finding this post grieved my heart so much. I cannot even begin to imagine what hurt you and your family are experiencing. I pray the Lord in Heaven will wrap you all up in peace and comfort that only He can give. I am truly touched by what a good heart you have, that even through this horrific act, you have kept your integrity, even when it would be so easy to let bitterness turn to hate in a situation like this. I pray this person is caught and justice is served for your precious Victoria. I'm so very sorry.
